This phenomena known as Twitter finally has me. Twitter has been going on for awhile. According to Wikipedia it was started in 2006 as a research project inside a San Francisco podcasting company called 'Odeo'. I only recently got involved with Twitter (follow me at http://twitter.com/joejoomla) and at first I was skeptical. "Here we go again with yet another social networking scheme" I thought. I'm already invested in several social network sites including Facebook, Myspace, Linkedin, and other's that have come and go. They all take up time. I'm too busy with other important things. Maybe it will go away and I wouldn't have missed anything. So I managed to avoid it for a few years. I'm not avoiding it anymore, it's made a way into my life and daily routine. It's now a habitual part of my social media world. I've decided I need a 'Sectwitary' Like Guy Kawasaki Has.

The term 'Sectwitary' isn't known, not even by the Twitter community. The word came into being today during a Twitter exchange between Brian Teeman and myself. Then Guy Kawasaki, or one of his 'Sectwitaries', interjected. Here's the brief Twitter exchange from this afternoon:

After Guy, or his Sectwitary, posted his Tweet I clicked the URL in it. It takes you to a blog by Paddy Donnelly called 'I Am Paddy'. There Paddy Donnelly interviews Guy Kawasaki about how he Twitters. @guykawasaki is the king of Twitter, he has over 60,000 Twitter followers and he follows approximately the same amount of Twitterers. Guy is prolific at Twittering, I get more Twitters from him than anyone else that I follow. How can a guy like Guy do it? That's why I initially posted the Tweet "So do people like guykawasaki hire others to Twitter for them?" The answer is in Paddy Donnelly's blog interview. Yes indeed Guy has others that Tweet for him. He Tweets too, but just as I suspected Guy has Sectwitaries. I need at least one good Sectwitary if I am going to do a good job of this.
