The Spirit Of Christmas Is The Spirit Of Giving

Season's Greetings

One of the things that appeals to me about Joomla! is that so many people give of their time and skills for the benefit of others. Joomla!, and other great open source content management systems, enable charitable organizations and businesses of all sorts to have state of the art, great looking, and affordable websites. The contributors who work on these projects exemplify the spirit of giving.

The spirit of Christmas is all about the spirit of giving. At Christmas I am reminded of one of my favourite quotes about giving:

Quote Start

For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat;
I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink;
I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;

naked, and you clothed Me;

I was sick, and you visited Me;
I was in prison, and you came to Me.
...Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine,
even the least of them,
you did it to Me.’

[The Gospel of Matthew 25:35-36,40 NAS95]

This holiday season, regardless of our cultural or religious background, we can all be thankful for what we have and give to those that are less fortunate than ourselves in any way we can.

To all of you who contribute your time and skills, either in the development or the support of Joomla! and other great open source projects, seasons greetings to you from JoeJoomla. May you enjoy good health, the love of your friends and family, and prosperity this coming year!
